Welcome to the Inaugural Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival (GCUFF) was created showcase local, emerging talent and established artists who are contributing to the growing population of independent filmmaking with a focus on quality films that promote awareness, appreciation and merit within the African-American community. GCUFF's programming objective is to educate, entertain and highlight the African –American experience via independent films and documentaries that represent the African-American journey and to encourage Greater Cleveland area students to consider a career in the film industry. The festival programming will include shorts, student films, features, documentaries and some animation. GCUFF will showcase films written, starring, produced, directed, scored by an African-American – or – a film that is about the African-American experience. The Inaugural Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival will take place in Cleveland, Ohio from April 19 -22 at the Shaker Square Cinemas located at 13116 Shaker Square, Cleveland, Ohio 44120. Over the four days of the event, you will have an opportunity to view over 10 feature and 21 short films, learn from industry experts who will share their knowledge via three panel discussions, networking with filmmakers and producers and enjoy yourself at our "Salute to Hollywood Party" on Saturday night and "Prive: Cinema Nior Edition Party" on Saturday night.
